After publishing “Transmissions East” last April, and the new singles “Revelate” and “Her Mercy”, with this new preview it prepares us for the launch of the second part of this project, an album that will be released this Friday June 26 via Plateau and Secretly Distributioncon.
Recorded over two nights in front of the Berlin public in April 2025the set brings together twenty songs that cover different stages of the Irish musician, including material from his solo albums, compositions with The Frames and songs of The Swell Seasonthe project he shares with Markéta Irglová.
Regarding “High Hope,” Hansard explains that the song talks about the possibility of meeting again when circumstances are more favorable. It is a song full of melancholy but also optimism that arose from a personal experience lived years ago.
The release comes accompanied by a video recorded during the Funkhaus sessions, where you can see the philosophy that runs through the entire project: performances recorded without retouching, without autotune and without second takes that show Hansard supported solely by the strength of his songs and the connection with the public.
It will be completed like this “Don’t Settle. Transmissions East & West”which more than just a live album represents a retrospective of Hansard’s entire career, celebrating the path traveled and looking to the future.
