Hayley Williams releases 17 singles without getting together on an album

Hayley Williams in Paramore has taken a new solo album out of the sleeve. Although she does not call him album but “collection of songs.” In fact, the 17 tracks are available in Spotify in the singles section, but do not appear under a single title.

The “song collection” was originally available through its website, where these 17 new songs can be downloaded. To access them, you have to buy the ego dye of their own hair dyes, which is called Good Dye Young.

What seemed like a mere trick of promoting his company related to hairdressing, a way like any other to make money, as Rihanna and Selena Gomez know, it seems that it has somehow became a real album, called: ‘ego’.

The official press release does speak of total “work”, although at the moment these 17 singles are only available individually. They “display the full record of Hayley Williams”, which goes from the alternative rock of the 90s in ‘Mirtazapine’, a “love letter to antidepressants”, to the alien indie-rock of ‘glum’, and that in ‘Whim’ explores its roots in Nashville. In ‘Ice in My Oj’, Williams recovers the melody he sang in ‘Jumping Inside’ (2004) of the Mammoth City Messengers.

Waiting for these 17 songs to appear ordered and sequenced officially, although they may not do so at all, their followers comment in places like Popjustice that “Hayley Williams has taken out of nowhere one of his best albums and one of the albums of the year.” The album includes acoustic songs, Lo-Fi elements and other more pop cuts, while the single aims to be an issue that had already been released live, next to Bleachers, called ‘Mirtazapine’. Today’s Focus Track is ‘glum’.
