Hate confetti, the musical project of the Madrid singer and composer Lucas de Laiglesia, has announced its dissolution. In an Instagram statement, Lucas explains: «I feel that now my heart is looking at other creative horizons and, out of respect for everything that this project has been, I am unable to do it at half a gas. I will continue to make music and many more things, and I will use this account from time to time to continue giving the tabarra with what I am doing ».
Lucas adds: «There have been fantastic years, I would never have imagined that this project came to where it has come or allow me to meet so many wonderful people. I am really proud of all the material that has come out, of the concerts and tours that we have made and having met people who have really been reflected with the songs of the confetti ».
Hate confetti has announced that there will be a farewell concert “on my favorite day of the year and in my city”, although it has not shared more details. He then jokes with a “meeting show in 20 years.”
Hate confetti has been one of the favorite indie-pop projects of recent years in the underground, thanks to its guitar sound and personal letters inclined to “patetism.” Hate confetti has signed just two albums, ‘Spanish tragedy’ (2020, nominated for the noise prize) and ‘son of divorce’ (2022). He is also the author of several epés, including the beloved ‘love me / if I love myself’ (2019) or the recent ‘sky1’ (2025), and a huge version of ‘The love’ of Massiel, prior to that of Rigoberta Bandini.
In parallel to the hate confetti project, Lucas de Laiglesia, who is the son of the well -known Telecinco Beatriz Cortázar collaborator, has composed for other artists, highlighting for Amaia Romero, with whom he has collaborated in the songs ‘Welcome to the show’, ‘Yamaguchi’ and ‘I want but not’ with Rojuu.
Lucas is also a non-founder of the Mexican Indie-Pop Axolotes Band, which in addition to having developed an interesting career, is the name invited in ‘The end of the world’ of the Love You, a huge success that is quíntuple platinum album in Spain.
