Produced by his “third brother”, Dan Auerbach (GRAMMY-winning producer and lead vocalist of The Black Keys) the duo aims to take the listener away from the desert landscapes of “The good and the bad”their hit of 2022. Along with the intertwined and soulful guitar lines, which are already a trademark of the sound of Gutierrez Brothersstrings, drums and an organ elevate the songs of “Cosmic Sound” to new heights. Elsewhere on the album, they expand their rhythmic palette, finding inspiration in cumbia and salsa.
Previously released songs from “Cosmic Sound” include the romantic “Until We Meet Again,” which Remix described as “one of the high points of his highly evocative catalogue”, the disturbing and otherworldly “Low Sun” that KCRW named as Top Tune and FLOOD praised for “watching the brothers do what they do best: letting intuition guide the movement of their fingers.”
