Like Sabrina Carpenter, who released the deluxe edition of ‘Man’s Best Friend’ today, or The Lemon Twigs, one of the most prominent national artists of the year has decided to give his fans a gift for Christmas. Guitarricadelafuente returns to its traditional beginnings with ‘In the coldest night’, the Song of the Day and its particular Christmas carol.
Álvaro Lafuente has had the best year of his career. ‘Spanish Leather’ has ended up getting a place on all the lists of the best national albums of the year and will continue to bring him success in 2026. To top it off, he has surprise released a single that is more reminiscent of ‘Agua y Mezcal’ than ‘Full time papi’.
Produced by Raül Refree, ‘In the Coldest Night’ is an acoustic piece designed to be enjoyed on these important dates. Its instrumentation and melody take inspiration from the Aragonese jota, while the lyrics are inspired by Christmas Eve and Guitarricadelafuente’s own imagination.
He mentions places like Punta Umbría or instruments like the zambomba, typical of Christmas carols: “When the cold penetrates deeper, my heart burns more,” he sings in the chorus. More elements are added to the mix during the song, coming together with a beautiful chorus that puts the final bow.
