Dora Jar is one of the pop talents for which the industry is betting right now. His debut album, ‘No Way to relax when you’re on fire’, is remarkable, and before its launch, Dora had already announced by calling artists like Billie Eilish or The 1975.
Another fan of Dora Jar is Gracie Abrams, who has selected Dora to open her next concerts in the United Kingdom and Europe. Unfortunately, a sector of Abrams fans does not agree with the choice because, in his opinion, Dora is not known and his songs are too slow.
These fans have gone so far from opening a request on Change.org to communicate their disgust with the election of Dora Jar. “Many fans do not understand this choice … We do not know who it is (Dora Jar) and it is impossible for us to familiarize ourselves with their songs in two weeks, since they are slow.” It looks like a news from El Mundo Today, but it is not: these Abrams fans believe they have the right to claim a stave that touches “more lively songs.”
Dora Jar has taken the occurrence of these Abrams fans with humor and, in networks, he said: «It does not bother me! I am here to act for all those who love music. Those who are not interested can go to buy merchandising while I am playing ». Dora has even signed the request, although he has also shared a playlist of his songs.
Abrams has taken it worse and has gone to defend his telonera. In a message posted in the comments section of the Stereogum Instagram account, Abrams has said that the request seems “absolutely ridiculous”, “tremendously painful” and “strange” and added that “it makes no sense.” In addition, he said that “I cannot be more fortunate to share the stage with this wonderful talent.”
To the (few) fans of Abrams overwhelmed with learning Dora Jar’s music before Abrams’s tour we advise them to listen to it: it is not so slow and the album is very good. And, yet, isn’t it the grace to see a temporary one live, discover his music for the first time? And if Dora Jar’s music still seems too slow, we suggest that they wear the EP of Ethel Cain.
