Gorillaz and Bizarre have collaborated on “Orange County”, one of the songs of “The Mountain”. The song is released along with “The Hardest Thing” and the duo is completed with the voice of Tony Allen and the contributions of Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar.
“The Hardest Thing/Orange County” are part of “The Mountain”the new album by Gorillazwhich will see the light February 27. And, as with the entire album, it presents us with some collaborations that are very worth highlighting. On the one hand, in “The Hardest Thing” we can hear the voice of the late Tony Allen, who died in 2020, with whom Damon Albarn had collaborated in the past, both being members of The Good The Bad And The Queen.
On the other hand, in “Orange County” we find the contributions of the Argentine Bizarrethe British Kara Jackson (The Long Blondes) and Anoushka Shankar (sister of Noah Jones and daughter of Ravi Shankar)which turn the song into a universe that takes various creative paths, fitting perfectly into the album’s concept. Both pieces are presented together and will be released on a limited edition double A-side seven-inch vinyl.
So far, the songs have already been released: “Damascus (feat. Omar Souleyman and Yasiin Bey)”, “The God of Lying (feat. IDLES)”, “The Manifesto (feat. Trueno and Proof)” and “The Happy Dictator (feat. Sparks)”.
“The Mountain” will be available in the following formats: digital download, standard CD, 2CD Deluxe Edition, standard vinyl, hardcover book edition vinyl and limited edition collector’s box (includes art prints).
