Good chart entry for Niall Horan, bad for Evanescence

Quevedo continues to dominate the Spanish album chart for the 7th consecutive week. ‘El Baifo’ must be getting closer to double platinum by leaps and bounds, because Bad Bunny remains contained in position 2 despite the fact that he has been performing non-stop in Spain for two weeks.

The strongest entry of the week is Niall Horan at number 9 with ‘Dinner Party’. The album has naturally been number 1 in the United Kingdom, but be careful, also in Germany, Holland, Ireland and Australia. It has also been top 4 in Italy and Switzerland.

The news of the week is how low the entry of ‘Sanctuary’ by Evanescence is in our country. The album only reaches number 72, below what was recently achieved by the likes of Triángulo de Amor Bizarro or La La Love You.

Amy Lee’s group has managed to be top 2 in Australia, top 5 in Germany and top 10 in the United Kingdom, although the entries in France (23) and Holland (46) are also modest. Worse still, the forecast is dire in the United States, where ‘Sanctuary’ could be around 38th place according to HDD and would be, by far, the worst figure of his career: ‘The Bitter Truth’ was top 11 in 2021.

Evanescence achieved number 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2006 and 2011 with their second and third albums. Their debut ‘Fallen’ went top 3 in the United States but the album ended up going 8 times platinum and remains their biggest hit. Today it would be a miracle to achieve the gold record.

The news of the week in Spain is completed with ‘8-Tracks’ by Pink Floyd (52) and ‘Live from Mexico’ by Dua Lipa (54).
