“God Gets You Back”, así suena lo nuevo de Mogwai

Music news

“God Gets You Back” is the sound of Mogwai’s new album

There was a desire to hear the new material from Mogwaiand here we have the advance single “God Gets You Back”, which the band also takes advantage of to announce a world tour.

Since they published “As The Love Continues” in 2021 and the soundtrack of “Black Bird” In 2022, we had not heard any new material from the Scottish Mogwai, although that does not mean that they have been sitting on their hands. Quite the contrary, they were immersed in the filming of the documentary “Mogwai: If The Stars Had A Sound”directed by his regular collaborator Antony Crooksome collaborations and the Big City festival in Glasgow, of which they have been curators.

Now the machinery of the group –which will soon celebrate thirty years of career– is back in motion with a new single, “God Gets You Back”, in which they bet on the synthesizer as the main protagonist once again and which they also accompany with a video clip directed by handheldcineclub (Justin and James Lockey).

On the other hand, they announced a world tour that, for the moment, does not have dates in our territory. The tour will begin on February 4 in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and will conclude on May 4 in Dallas (United States)with almost twenty dates in the United States, a dozen in Europe and several in Japan and Thailand. We will see if their presence at festivals or a subsequent addition of dates to the tour is announced later.
