Ferdous is the aka of the Dietary singer, composer and producer Osman Ferdaus Dezhad, who you probably know for being a member of the Klyne electronic pop duo, authors of the success ‘Water Flow’, theme that exceeds 100 million views in Spotify. Klyne, who have been peeled Metronomy or Christine and the Queens, published a single album in 2017, but in 2025 new material is expected to launch.
Solo, Ferdous-who is the son of Afghan refugees-publishes music since 2019 and in 2023 he published his debut album, ‘Cool Party’, a culmination of his style, which fuses pop, R&B, hip-hop and experimental electronics.
Some of his initial singles, such as ‘Wish The Times Were Better’, have been able to approach the R&B in a more or less conventional way, but the ‘cool party’ material, such as the singles ‘Deal with it’ and ‘Sad Nebula’, have a more colorful and atmospheric optics. Then, in 2024, the EP ‘Dreamland’ arrived, which contained productions from Alien House as ‘Celestial Kiss’ and others as Synthwave as ‘Summer Nights’.
After a period of a year and a half, Ferdous has returned this year with new music. ‘Wolves’ is the theme that has marked his return – in a very synthetic style, almost a club -oriented – and ‘Carousel’ is today’s song.
‘Carousel’ is based on a melodic hook similar to the melody of the Tiovivos, and around it builds an effective house-pop theme that evokes the danceable, euphoric and summer sound of artists such as Empire of the Sun. ‘Carousel’ is also a subject of yearning for a moment of tranquility and air in the middle of a life that does not stop for a second.
“Life may be a carousel, always in a hurry, I want to believe in the magical spells and forget all my problems,” Ferdous sings. In ‘Carousel’, the artist longs for a friend who guides her and reminds her “how to look at the sky again.” When do we stop contemplating the stars?
