García Picasso, double tribute to Locomía

Garcia Picasso pays tribute to the legendary Ibizan electro-pop band Locomía with a single in which he covers two of his songs.

Forty years have passed since the founding of the Ibizan band Locomía. With their electronic hits they blew up all the dance floors between the eighties and the nineties, becoming a milestone in national electro-pop.

In honor of them, the Granada musician García Picasso has covered “Party Time” and “Locomía”, two of the most representative singles from the band's golden era. The double-single anticipates what will be their debut album “Meninas“, which will be released next fall.

The EP “Locomía“will be presented at the Copera Industrial Garden in Granada next May 11 next to Lisasinson, Tirana, Expensive Rare and Kora. In which García Picasso will take us to the festive-queer-Ibizan style with his repertoire during the DJ set. Event for which tickets are available at this link.

In addition to the celebrations for the band's 40th anniversary, it will hit theaters on May 17.”Disco, Ibiza, Locomia“. A film directed by Kike Maíllo and starring Jaime Lorente, Alberto Ammann and Alejandro Speitzer. The film will show what that crazy story was like of some young people whose passion for fashion and music led them to revolutionize nightclubs around the world.
