Lady Gaga is on the cover of Vogue Magazine to promote ‘Joker: Folie à deux’, and the magazine confirms that the new album by the author of ‘Bad Romance’ will be released in “February” 2025; it will therefore be one of the first macro-releases of the coming year.
During the interview, Gaga plays Vogue a song from her new album. “It’s intense and dark, an old-fashioned Lady Gaga banger,” Vogue says. “It’s haunting, but also very upbeat.”
Speaking to Vogue, Gaga teases the theme of her upcoming album: “The Chromatica Tour was an epiphany. Michael[my fiancé]and I did that tour together. I did it without any pain. I haven’t smoked weed in years. I’ve changed. A lot. I feel like this new record is about that time, but from a place of happiness instead of misery.”
While she remains glued to the global number 1 spot with ‘Die with a Smile’, her ballad with Bruno Mars, since its release one of the clear best songs of 2024, Lady Gaga had already confirmed the release of the first single from her upcoming seventh album. To no one’s surprise, it will coincide with the campaign for ‘Joker: Folie à deux’, the film she stars in alongside Joaquin Phoenix.
Lady Gaga, who is at the Venice Film Festival presenting the sequel to ‘Joker’, has confirmed the date by showing her itinerary at the film festival, including two “important dates.” The first is the premiere of ‘Joker 2’ on October 4th and the second, the release of the first single from “LG7,” after the premiere of the film. She does not specify a date but, considering that new music releases come out on Fridays, the options are October 11th, 18th or 25th.
Details surrounding Lady Gaga’s seventh album are very scarce. It is known that ‘Die with a Smile’ will not be part of the album, as it has been released as a separate single. And it is assumed that the sound of ‘LG7’ will offer a mix of rock and electronic music. At least, that is the aesthetic of the two songs that Gaga has shown her fans. ‘Chromatica’ is already four years old.
