Gabriel Rufián is Bad Bunny in the hilarious parody of ‘Polònia’

If this week the wall of your favorite social network has been filled with videos of Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl and on the other hand of Gabriel Rufián trying to unify the left of the entire country, this interests you. The comedy program ‘Polònia’ has made another of those musical parodies that transcend Catalan television to make the leap to the rest of Spain.

In it, one of the program’s actors plays the hitherto parliamentary spokesperson for ERC, only dressed as Bad Bunny and singing an adaptation of ‘I should have thrown more photos’, the biggest hit in the world at the moment. Rufián’s attempt to unify the federal left into a single project, not necessarily led by him, is the reason for the gag.

Rufián’s careful toupee, the talked-about tracksuit that he wore with very little grace to ‘La Revuelta’, his enormous acceptance on social networks (“with as many votes as retweets I will be president”) or what he has risen in the polls as a presidential candidate in recent months occupy the lyrics, which leave phrases as hilarious as “I am the 15-M without camping.”

“I’m going to have more votes than if I were in Esquerra” or “if there is someone in Spain who raises his arm, it will be to say ‘what a jerk'” are other triumphant phrases from the first half of the gag. “God bless the left canallitas” is another of his highlights.

But the second half represents the coldness with which Bildu and the BNG are receiving their proposal, in the absence of Sumar or Podemos specifying how they will present themselves in the 2027 general elections. After changing the original phrase of the “nudes” to “may Pedro help me”, the end of the gag represents the desolation and the return home of the prodigal son: “I am not leaving Esquerra, a leftist front, I prefer my friend Junqueras.”

Another example of how Bad Bunny has flooded international and national politics these days. In the plenary session of Congress this Wednesday, the president of the Spanish government asked Santiago Abascal, leader of the extreme right, to pay “more attention to Bad Bunny” with “more love and less hate.”
