The death of Frank Beardwho was a drummer ZZ Top since 1969. He has died of natural causes, although the exact cause of the illness has not been made known.
Just a few weeks ago ZZ Top visited our country to display their potential live. The training had Billy Gibbons, Elwood Francis and his own Frank Beard. The group performed in Pamplona, Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Murcia and Cádiz, but no one could expect this news just a few days later.
Obviously, his colleagues have said goodbye to him on social networks, remembering his human qualities and his talent as a drummer, something that led him to remain in the band for more than fifty years. They also highlight that he was “a true son of Texas”, a land of which he was very proud.
Beard died at the Richmond hospital “surrounded by family members”, although the exact cause of death has not been determined. Frank Lee Beart was born in 1949 in Frankston (Texas) and began performing with ZZ Top in 1970. As part of the group, he won eleven gold records and sold millions of copies of records, although throughout his career Beard was addicted to drugs and alcohol – which left him out of the group for three years. He later returned to the band and performed with them although occasionally suffering from health problems.
At this time, ZZ Too had returned to the United States to offer a new round of concerts, but the next dates have been canceled. We will see what happens with the training in the near future.
