With their new single ‘Marianne’ fighting to climb from number 60 to the top 20 in the UK charts today, during its first full week, Fontaines DC have something important to announce. It is their biggest tour to date: 20 shows at fairly large venues in Europe and the UK this fall.
If their 5th album ‘Dopamine Chamber’ is released on October 16, just 5 days later the tour will start in Lisbon. Spain will come immediately after, but there will no longer be concerts in Navarra, Alicante or the Baluarte de la Candelaria like those this summer, where by the way they premiered ‘Marianne’ and another new composition for the first time; but a large arena in Madrid and a room for 5,000 people in Barcelona. You’re guessing: the Movistar Arena – where they performed a few years ago without filling all the possibilities of the venue – and the Sant Jordi Club.
The tour ends at London’s O2 Arena on November 27. It will also visit Bologna, Belgrade, Prague, Łódź, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Paris, before a six-date stretch in the UK passing through Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and London.
Tickets will go on general sale at 10:00 BST / 11:00 CEST on Thursday 3 September, on their website. Pre-sale starts at 10:00 BST / 11:00 CEST on Tuesday 1st September.
