Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) has announced the release of “Honora”, his first solo album, which will be released next March 27.
After decades at the head of Red Hot Chilli Peppersone of the most important rock groups of the last century, the bassist has found the space to record his first solo album and recover the trumpet as his original instrument.
“Honora“, which takes its title from a member of the artist’s family, will feature collaborations from Thom Yorke, Nick Cave either Warren Ellis. In addition to presenting six original songs, there will also be versions of Frank Ocean, George Clinton, Jimmy Webb and Ann Ronell. Along with this announcement, the second preview of the album has already been released, “Traffic Lights”, which has been composed and recorded with Thom Yorkeleader of Radiohead and his partner in training Atoms For Peace.
The ten songs that make up the album have been recorded with the guitarist Jeff Parker (Tortoise), Anna Butters (Jason Isbell, Andrew Bird) on double bass, drummer Deantoni Parks (KUDU, The Mars Volta), Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco (David Byrne, Atoms for Peace, Red Hot Chili Peppers), saxophonist Rickey Washington and the trombonist Vikram Devasthali.
“Traffic Lights” is the second preview of the album after “A Plea”, presented a few weeks ago.
