Flamencoeñe celebrates its tenth anniversary in Granada with a root and avant -garde fusion

Of the September 17 to 19, The SGAE Foundation will carry out the tenth edition of Flamencoeñeits International Flamenco exhibition, which this year is integrated into the first Flamenco Biennial of Granada. For three days, the event will bring together twelve artists and formations that will show the diversity and strength of current flamenco, combining the purest tradition with experimental and subversive proposals.

In just a decade, Flamencoeñe It has been consolidated as one of the most important windows for the internationalization of flamenco. Through their previous editions, more than 70 artists have had the opportunity to act at 30 international festivals. This year, a dozen programmers and directors of festivals from America and Europe will travel to Granada to discover new talents and establish connections with them. Among the competitions represented are Flemish Festival London and New York, Contemporary Iberian Festival (Mexico), Theater Mayor of Bogotá, Flemish art of Mont de Marsan (France), Helsinki Flemish Biennial, Flemish Festival of Albuquerque (USA) or the Flemish Festival of Lisbon, among others.“Flamencoeñe is a professional meeting space, a more than necessary scope to give continuity to the hard effort of the artists to carry out their projects”says Arcángel Ramos, coordinator of the Flamenco area of ​​the SGAE Foundation.

Two ways to feel flamenco

Programming is articulated in two spaces very different:

Federico García Lorca Center: The most orthodox and traditional slope, with concerts at 7:00 p.m.

Ground floor room: Underground and experimental territory, where new languages ​​are explored at 9:00 p.m.
