FKA twigs is preparing her return to music. In fact, FKA twigs’ new album is finished and the British artist has just presented it at an exclusive listening party held in a basement on New York’s Lower East Side. According to Julia Fox, one of the people who attended the event, the album is titled “EUSEXUA”, although the title has not been confirmed by FKA twigs. “We listened to it last night and the whole place was filled with electricity and pure emotion,” said the actress.
FKA twigs herself coined this word, a neologism she uses to describe “that moment when you make out with your lover for hours and you turn into an amoeba; you’re no longer a person, you’re just a feeling.”
It seems, therefore, that the announcement or even the release of «EUSEXUA» – if that is its real title – is closer than it seems. Little is known about its content, but it is public knowledge that FKA twigs has once again worked with British producer Koreless on this project. In her words, it is an album inspired by techno music, as the artist has become fond of this musical genre after moving to Prague, a city where she has been living for a couple of years: «The album is not techno, but the spirit is definitely there.»
On the album’s theme, FKA twigs has said that it’s “deep but not sad” because she’s “not sad anymore.” It should be remembered that “EUSEXUA” is the true successor to ‘Magdalene’, the best album of 2019, and is therefore considered FKA twigs’ third official album; ‘Caprisongs’ (2022) is considered a turning point in her career due to its mixtape status.
These days mark the tenth anniversary of ‘LP1′, FKA twigs’ debut, released on August 6, 2014. 10 years later it seems that FKA twigs’ third album will not be long in coming.
