“Fanzine Made Of Flesh”, third preview of Mogwai’s new work

Just a few days before the release of his next album “The Bad Fire”available on the 24th of this month, Mogwai They give us “Fanzine Made Of Flesh”, the third preview of it.

The new song by the Scottish band is accompanied by a video clip directed by Agnes Hauswhich results in an elegant summary of the weapons that Mogwai wield to shape their proposal that remains solid after several decades of career.

Braithwaite comments on the track: “Fanzine Made Of Flesh was written in Brooklyn while I was staying at Alex Kapranos’ house in the fall of 2023. In my head it sounds like a mix between ABBA, Swervedriver and Kraftwerkalthough that may be absurd. I originally had a straight voice, but we ended up using vocoder on the last day of recording. “It’s quite different and I’m really happy with the result.”

“The Bad Fire” was recorded in Lanarkshire with Grammy-winning producer John Congletonwho joined the band in the studio. The title is a Scottish colloquialism for hell, because the album is inspired by a series of difficult personal moments that the band faced following the success of their tenth album, “As The Love Continues”.
