FANTA imagine a dystopian future in “Skynet was right”

FANTA have published “Skynet was right”, the second preview of “I’m bored (Vol. II)”the band’s new work, which will arrive on May 22 on digital platforms and later in physical format.

In this new song, the Santa Coloma de Gramenet group translates the sensation of living increasingly closer to a dystopia in a punk pop key. Inspired by science fiction imagery, the theme plays with the idea that many of the catastrophic futures proposed by cinema and popular culture are beginning to seem less distant.

With fast guitars, immediate melodies and a tone between ironic and pessimistic, “Skynet was right” continues in the same vein as the previous single, “Need time”, anticipating an album marked by the punk attitude that characterizes the group. The new work, which will be released jointly by Snap Records and Rufus Recordings, represents the continuation of “I’m bored (Vol. I)”published in 2024, expanding a project divided into two parts that recovers the band’s most recognizable sound.

The trio has already confirmed the first live performance dates: on June 13 in Rosselló (Lleida), from July 16 to 19 at Punk Rock Raduno in Bergamo (Italy) and the October 24 in the Gruta 77 room in Madrid.
