Fangoria publishes ‘Random Mode’ tonight digitally and this Friday, November 21st in physical stores. It is a compilation box of 6 CDs, which contains rarities recorded between 1990 and 2023. The project arose after the collection of maxis that the group from Alaska and Nacho Canut released a couple of years ago.
In total there are 96 rarities not included in their official albums. Taking us back to their beginnings as Fangoria, the album recovers entertainment about procrastination such as ‘Perdiendo el tiempo’, also the medley tribute to Carlos Berlanga that they performed called ‘Carlos baila en otro dimension’, the iconic ‘Absolutamente’ with Sara Montiel, in general the songs from forgotten EPs such as ‘Entre Punta Cana y Montecarlo’, as well as “bonuses” from their usual deluxe editions.
Surely you won’t remember Fangoria’s moment with Camela, Fangoria’s moment with Dover or that the duo was remixed by none other than Marc Almond, Vive la Fête, GusGus, Joe Goddard or Hidrogenesse, among many others.
The repertoire has been remastered and, as Warner reports, “although it is edited in chronological order, it is recommended to listen to it in random mode”, from which it receives its title. The 6-CD box set is released in a vinyl-sized binder and includes credits for each song. We leave you with the tracklist:
