Even if everything goes to shit, the house hit from Ciutat

DJ duo Ciutat have released four singles from their second album, ‘Ciutat l’Amistat’, which will be released this autumn. After their debut ‘Brandon’ and the corresponding remix album, Ciutat have mainly popularised an R&B single called ‘Nadie sabe’. On the other hand, the preview of the second album that we chose as Song of the Day is ‘Una vez más’.

The song repeats the mantra “even if everything goes to shit, dance with me one more time” over a house base, halfway between the Underworld of ‘Born Slippy’ and the elegance of fellow countryman John Talabot. According to their own press release, the song contains bird samples like those on their first album and an invitation to live in the moment. Who would say that they are ska fans?

As for the video, they say that “it could be a scene from Spike Jonze’s ‘The Mole Agent’: Ciutat sneak into French DJ Myd’s (Ed Banger) session at a retirement home, dressed as an elderly couple, and turn the centre upside down.”

These are their live dates:
September 22 – BARCELONA (BAM, Plaça Catalunya) – Ciutat L’Amistat Ensemble
November 16 – MADRID (Mazo, Clamores)
November 21 – MURCIA (REM Hall) + Bestia Bebé
November 22 – SEVILLE (Monkey Week)
January 9 – GRANADA (Ground Floor)
January 10 MALAGA (Mars)
