Eminem promotes his new album with a false obituary

Eminem is another big international name who will release a new album this year. It is titled 'The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)' and, in it, indeed, Eminem seems to “kill” his alter ego.

Eminem's website is already promoting 'The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)' with a trailer announcing Slim Shady's death, and also giving a vague release date: summer.

The latest promotional action related to 'The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)' consists of a false obituary published in the print version of a Detroit newspaper, the Detroit Free Press.

The text says goodbye to Eminem, or rather Slim Shady, remembering that, although his music achieved commercial success, it also hid a deep “darkness” and that he helped spread and “glorify” a “nihilistic vision of the world” that influenced millions of listeners. The obituary states that Eminem lived a “tortured” life that could only have a “terrible end,” and prays that he “finds in the afterlife the peace that he did not find on Earth.”

It seems that darkness and terror continue to inspire Eminem after the release of his latest album, 'Music to Be Murdered By', in early 2020. It is the album that contains his biggest recent hit, 'Godzilla'.
