Eliades Ochoaone of the greats of Cuban son, returns to tour our country. After performing in Segovia a few days ago, this weekend we will be able to see him in Barcelona within his “Like never Tour”, with which he promises to tour again this coming summer.
Author of some of the greatest songs in Cuban music and artist of international repercussion, Eliades Ochoa was one of the original members of Buena Vista Social Club, but also much more than that. A guitarist of undoubted talent, he has become one of the great standard-bearers of traditional Cuban music.
He has been described as “the Johnny Cash of Cuba”, for his aesthetics and his attitude, although his talent does not deserve to be overshadowed by any comparison with Anglo-Saxon artists, but valued for what he is, one of the greats of Cuban music. As for the new generations, they discovered him thanks to his participation in the successful “The Madrilenian” (21) by C. Tangana, specifically in the song “Muriendo de envie”.
This Sunday March 29 we can see him in Barcelona (Paral·lel Room 62)although later, and after touring Germany, Mexico or the United States, he will return to Spain to perform in Madrid (June 7, La Riviera), Pontevedra (July 11, Portamérica Festival), Pamplona (October 31, Baluarte) and Valencia (November 1, La Rambleta).
