Dua Lipa began her 'Radical Optimism' tour yesterday in Berlin, which will also take the singer to Croatia and France, before embarking on the summer festival programme. The rain and the prominence of 'Future Nostalgia' in the setlist were the highlights of this beginning of an era on stage.
At the moment, and as some fans have indicated on social networks, more than radical optimism of this era it is radical pessimism. The first live performance of Dua Lipa's third album was completely marked by incessant rain, since the venue was outdoors. “A concert of just 90 minutes in which 80% was rain,” says one of the attendees in Popjustice.
Another surprise was the little presence of 'Radical Optimism' in the programming. Of 17 songs, including encore, only 5 belonged to this latest work: 'Training Season', 'Houdini', 'These Walls', 'Illusion' and 'Happy For You'.
Other notable absences were those of 'Dance The Night' and 'IDGAF', two of the UK-born singer's biggest hits. “It's a shame because the arrangements are another level, but this is a second tour of 'Future Nostalgia'…”, comments another fan. Many are also talking about an “exciting” remix of 'Illusion' that could be released at any time.
Dua Lipa will visit Madrid next July as the headliner for Mad Cool. There are still tickets, both day and general.
