Dua Lipa does get the top 1 Albums in the UK

Although none of the singles from 'Radical Optimism' were number 1 in the United Kingdom, Dua Lipa has reached the top of the most important chart, the one that reflects more the loyalty of the public and less the trends: the album chart.

46,298 people have bought Dua Lipa's third album during the first week. There have been about 17,000 vinyl records, 13,000 CDs, 5,000 tapes, 1,400 downloads and 10,000 streaming points. That is, a little bit of everything. Not an ultra-massive audience, but a generalist and loyal one. In addition, it is the best debut for a British artist, no less than Adele's '30'. In position 2 this week is Taylor Swift with 'The Tortured Poets Department' with 32,000 more copies, to add to those she sold in previous weeks.

Dua Lipa's first album entered at number 5 on the charts and ended up rising to number 3. The second, 'Future Nostalgia', entered at number 2 and then rose to number 1. The first sold 1 million copies in the UK, while the second is at 741,000.

In terms of singles and always referring to the United Kingdom, 'Illusion' appears this week at number 16 (after having been number 9), 'These Walls' at number 40 (that is, it is another top 40 for the artist), and 'Training Season' at 61 (after having been number 4). 'Houdini' has been removed: British standards stuff for a bit of variety.

If we go to other countries, 'Radical Optimism' has been number 1 in Holland. And it has been ranked 2 in Australia, Ireland, Italy and New Zealand. It has been top 3 in Finland, Germany and Norway. In the United States a top 5 is expected. The Spanish position will be known slowly.
