The Italians Talc continue to reveal pieces of “FREEK”their next concept album, with the publication of “Discorotto Talent Show”, a new preview that recovers the most combative character of the band.
Conceived as a conceptual work with autobiographical overtones, “FREEK” reflects on the contradictions of contemporary society and on the role of appearance and constant exposure.
Some themes are present even in “Discorotto Talent Show”, the new preview, which portrays a character who discovers how many of his values have been absorbed by the logic of spectacle and marketing and have been transformed into superficial speeches for social approval. Through its characteristic mix of ska, punk and patchanka, the band thus questions a context in which dissidence, activism and collective consciousness have become a mere performance where appearance matters more than content.
