ALBXROTO is the alias of Alba Torroella, an artist from Barcelona who has published a couple of albums exploring contemporary sounds ranging from hip-hop to post-punk, including experimental electronics. In 'Some bodies like flowers' (2023) and 'Others like daggers' (2024) she senses a restless artist who also takes care of the visual part of her project.
The changes of rhythm of 'Disaster Therapy', which goes from hip-hop to disco hype, and also pop, fit into ALBXROTO's imagination, since 'Greek Island' – their most listened to song – does not renounce a certain bedroom love. pop, almost typical of Jimena Amarillo.
The digital torrent of 'Interludio: Sangre Circular' makes up one of ALBXROTO's most electronic productions, but in their repertoire the melodic trap of 'August Storm' and the pop potential of 'Piedra de la loca' stand out.
Aside from his musical project, Torroella is co-founder of the independent queer collective PIXELPOP, which has already become known in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Prague.
ALBXROTO presents its live show this Friday, June 7 at Razzmatazz, sharing the bill with Gitano del Futuro and BONBONRIBBON69. Tickets are still available.
