In a new lawsuit, DJ and producer Diplo has been accused by another woman of distributing “revenge porn.” According to the complainant, Diplo would have sent sexual videos and photographs of her to another woman, without her consent.
According to legal documents, recovered by Rolling Stone, the woman (Jane Doe) met Diplo when she was 21 years old, in June 2016, beginning a relationship that lasted until October 2023. The plaintiff claims that, during their casual 7-year relationship, the DJ used to record their sexual encounters occasionally and with her consent. However, the woman clarifies that they agreed to keep everything private.
In November 2023, a woman contacted Doe to reveal that she was in possession of explicit images and videos of her and Diplo having sex. She told Doe that said material had reached her through the DJ’s Snapchat in October 2018.
Upon learning this, Doe went to the NYPD to file a warrant against the musician. A spokesperson for the NYPD has confirmed to Pitchfork that the case is currently being investigated by the police’s detectives. The plaintiff firmly believes that Diplo has been distributing these types of videos and images from 2018 until today.
It is not the first time that Diplo has been involved in a case like this. The American artist has been in legal disputes since 2020 with Shelly Auguste, who accused the producer of “sexual assault, gender violence, intentional intrusion into private affairs, assault, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and fraud.”
