Dinosaur Jr. keep their essence intact in “Several Got Away”

Dinosaur Jr. They keep their essence intact in “Several Got Away”, a song that serves as a preview of what will be their next album. “There Nearby”.

“There Nearby” It will be Dinosaur Jr’s thirteenth album, and the sixth they have recorded since their return twenty years ago. And we are clear that he will not disappoint his followers, since he maintains the coordinates of his sound. At least that’s what “Several Got Away” shows, a song with the usual melody and guitars of the trio led by J. Mascis.

“Several Got Away” is the lead single from “There Nearby”which will be released on August 28 through Jagjaguwar, and which is accompanied by a video clip by Guy Kozakwho notes that: “I wanted to do something a little tongue-in-cheek with a ‘home movie’ feel that would fit well with the existing canon of Dinosaur Jr. music videos. The first inspiration came from a great painting by Henry Darger of children terrified by two giant floating hands of fire. Then I started thinking about the kidnapping and from there everything flowed. The boys were very up for anything and I felt honored that they let me chase them around a large field with my camera like a madman. We had a Very tight schedule, so I had to learn a lot about visual effects over the weekend, but I like how the effects turned out.”

“There Nearby” It was recorded in short sessions over a year at the Bisquiteen studio in Amherst, with the lineup including Murph (drums), Lou Barlow (bass) and J. Mascis (guitar and vocals), with the collaboration of keyboardist Ken Mauri.

The album will include eleven songs, which are the following:

Several Got Away
Not Friends
Everything At Once
Take Me With You
Blowin’ Up
Gone Off
Clam Along
Walk Me Back
Read The Room
Put It Down
No One’s Ready
