Desire’s noir synth-pop arrives in Spain

Desire, iconic group from Italians Do it Better, has started its European Games People Play Tour. The tour is the title track for Desire’s new album, ‘Games People Play’, which is due out soon. At the moment six of their cuts can be heard on streaming platforms, including the single ‘Dangerous Drug’. This week ‘Drama Queen’ arrived.

The tour, which is aimed at an “adult audience”, passes through Spain starting today, November 21, with a first visit to the Radar Studios in Vigo. Afterwards, the Games People Play Tour continues at the Sala Apolo in Barcelona on November 22 and on November 23 at the Sala Changó in Madrid. The opening acts for Desire’s tour on all dates are Orion and System Olympia.

Starting November 25, Desire will take its tour to France and then visit countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Finland.

Desire is the alias of Megan Louise, but it is also the name of the duo that the singer forms with Johnny Jewel, leader of Italians Do it Better and former member of Chromatics and Glass Candy. ‘Under Your Spell’ is one of the most emblematic songs of the American label and also one of the most popular after its inclusion on the soundtrack of ‘Drive’ (2013).

Of course, Desire continues to deliver on the noir synth-pop of her first album, released in 2008, and her second, ‘Escape’, which, released in 2022, contained gems like ‘Zero’ and ‘Black Latex’. Although ‘Drama Queen’ also includes house piano keyboards.
