In addition to showing it in cinemas, Depeche Mode will publish in physical format “M”which will see the light in different formats on next December 5. The release will include almost thirty songs, including the previously unreleased “In The End.”
“M” will hit stores in different formats (double CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, box of four vinyls) and there is no doubt that it is a release that will delight fans of the British group. The film premiered yesterday at In-Edit, Barcelona Musical Documentary Film Festival.
The Mexican director Fernando Frias de la Parra is responsible for “M”a film that not only tells us about Depeche Mode, at a stage in which they were facing the live action after the death of their partner Adam Fletcher in 2022, but also immerses us in the Mexican culture related to death.
In this way, images of the concerts that Depeche Mode offered at the Foro Sol stadium in Mexico City are combined with various films directed by Fernando Frías, responsible for “I’m not here anymore (No Longer Here)” (19) or “I’m not going to ask anyone to believe me (Don’t Expect Anyone To Believe Me)” (23). The film not only deals with themes related to death in music through Dave Gahan and Martin Gore, but also about the connections between people through death and mortality, how Mexican culture and the people who populate the country understand them.
The release will feature a total of twenty-seven songs, of which four will be the unreleased “In The End”, “Survive”, “Life 2.0” and “Give Yourself To Me”, all of them from the recording sessions of “Memento Mori”his last studio work to date. As for the cuts recorded in concerts, we will find pieces like “My Cosmos is Mine”, “Sister Of Night”, “World In My Eyes”, “Enjoy The Silence” or “Personal Jesus”.
