After releasing the single “Hot One,” the rapper Denzel Curry is back with a new preview of his upcoming album. It’s “Black Flag Freestyle” and he performs it with the help of That Mexican OTwho also accompanies him in the corresponding video clip.
“Black Flag Freestyle” takes its title from arestyle which Curry recorded during a night out with friends in an American recording studio. He wrapped a black bandana around the microphone while recording, and that’s where the name came from. The instrumental base is produced by 187 Ricky & Payday and fits perfectly with That Mexican OToriginally from Bay City.
“King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 2” represents a continuation of the Curry project that helped launch his career. While the first “King Of The Mischievous South” Done from the perspective of his character Raven Miyagi – a name given to him by Raider Klan founder SpaceGhostPurrp – this second volume finds Curry operating under his Big Ultra persona, an “elevated version of Raven Miyagi who is boastful and revels in the success Curry has seen over the past decade of his career.”
On this album, Curry pays homage to “the great musical heritages of the South (from Memphis to Houston, passing through Curry’s own South Florida), hence the long list of guests who appear on the album and who represent the music scenes of Atlanta, North Carolina or Florida.
