Delaporte says goodbye to the year with the bang of ‘Surrender’

At the beginning of the year, Delaporte published one of the best albums of 2024 for the person who writes this, ‘Aqui y Ahora’, in which they gave themselves over to techno (or “hard pop” as they say). Not content with that, since then there have been singles released, there have been parallel projects by Sandra (ALEXXANDRA) and Sergio (this Bruno who appears here as featuring), and they have just announced a new album for early 2025, ‘Déjate Caer’, where those single singles will be included, including the latest, ‘Rendición’, a perfect way to say goodbye to the year.

‘Surrender’ is, according to the press release, “that moment in which you manage to get out of your mind and surrender to that love that exists behind every living being and that unites us all. It is the connection with that deepest part of our being, which can sometimes be born from a simple caress from a loved one, or from the purr of a cat.” As a song, it is different from what they have done so far, and, at the same time, it unites their three albums published so far.

Speaking to MondoSonoro, Sandra said that for her “techno is like meditating,” and in this song that seems to crystallize. Because what begins as a calmer song takes on electronic layers to mutate into a bridge that is practically spoken word, and through a mantra (that “love yourself and see that there is no one”), ends up exploding and being an absolute cocktail of emotions helped by music. Because, you know, techno heals.
