Death Cab For Cutie return to independence signing with ANTI

Death Cab for Cutie have signed to ANTI Records for their upcoming releases, marking a symbolic return to their independent roots.

Death Cab for Cutie have joined the record label ANTI Records for future releases. Trained in 1997, Death Cab for Cutie quickly established themselves as one of the defining bands of their generation, driven by their co-founder, vocalist, guitarist and main songwriter, Benjamin Gibbard. They released their first four albums with Barsuk Records. These were followed by six albums for Atlantic Recordstwo of which achieved platinum certification. His debut on a major label, “Plans” (05), catapulted them to even greater notoriety, earning platinum status and their first nominations for the GRAMMY.

In the following years, Death Cab for Cutie have constantly reaffirmed their validity and creative ambition. “Thank You for Today” (18) marked a new chapter, with the single “Gold Rush” topping the charts. Meanwhile, later projects highlighted the band’s collaborative spirit and civic engagement, from high-profile musical partnerships to “The Georgia EP” (20), which raised more than $100,000 for initiatives in defense of voting rights. However, for the moment, ANTI They have not announced plans for a new album from the band.
