Police are investigating the death of an adult man at the Burning Man Festival, which is held for seven days in the Black Rock desert in Nevada. This was found in “a pool of blood” and the authorities indicate that it could be the first case of homicide in the history of the festival.
The attendees discovered the victim during one of the most important moments of the event, the burning of the figure that gives name to the festival, and the police declared him as “clearly deceased.” The authorities also clarified that they believed that they are an “isolated crime”, while advised the public about staying “alert.”
The identity and cause of the death of the deceased have not been revealed at the moment. According to USA Today, it is the first time that there are suspicions about a homicide during Burning Man. However, eight other deaths have happened at the Festival since 1996.
