David Byrne collaborates with IMS and Natalia Lafourcade on “Qué Es La Razón?”

David Byrne He revisits one of his most recent songs, but giving the song an important twist and adding voices in Spanish.

The American musician presents “Qué Es La Razón?”, a surprising new reinterpretation of “What Is The Reason For It?” single from his latest album “Who Is The Sky?” which saw in its original form the collaboration of Hayley Williams (Paramore). In this new version, David Byrne is accompanied by the voice of Natalia Lafourcade and the production of Mexican Institute of Sound.

Thanks to this collaboration, the song appears renewed, with a different approach that reflects the influences in both the voice and the arrangements of the three components. The result is a more rhythmic reading of the theme and a sound that refers to the Mexican music scene, influenced by Byrne’s recent stays in Mexico City and by his interest in music with Latin roots.

Coinciding with this release, Byrne has announced new dates for his international tour, which will arrive in the country next summer. The American will land first in Bilbao, the July 9 at Bilbao BBK Liveto later become part of the Cruïlla Festival in Barcelona on July 10 and close with the Mad Cool Festival in Madrid on July 11.
