Lildami, one of the main stars of urban pop music made in Catalonia, returns in 2025 with a new album called ‘Bentornat’. «Welcome», of course, because of the last album of the rapper born in Terrassa Damià Rodríguez Vila, ‘Dummy’, two years have passed.
‘The Ball de la Civada’, the first advance of ‘Bentornat’, adapts the melody of a traditional Catalan song, titled that way. An adapted song, for example, by Joan Manuel Serrat, and included in his 1968 traditional Cançons’ album.
‘The Ball de la Civada’ is an ode to both “collective” effort – as of the “farmers” – as “individual”, and is also a defense of “music and the Catalan language.” Serrat, precisely, receives a dart in ‘El Ball de la Civada’: «The ball of the civada goes to make cash, to make box and not pay much attention, to receive the entrance and do nothing more, call me Joan Manuel Serrat ». For Lildami, S’enténSerrat does not do enough to defend his language.
The Hymn background of ‘The Ball de la Civada’ dresses with a spectacular, vibrant and colorful production, designed next to Mr. Chen, who seems to look at the work of the best Kanye West, and ratifies that Catalan pop enjoys A great creative streak, especially in the field of urban music, to which Julieta is linked as grasses.
Lildami presents ‘Bentornat’ on May 9 in the Rasa 64 Hall of Terrassa and on May 17 at the Barcelona rudeucats festival. The album comes out in spring.
