Daddy Yankee continues making hits even though he is surrendered to God

Two years ago, during the farewell concert of his last tour, Daddy Yankee announced his retirement from the stage to follow Jesus Christ: “He is the way, the truth and the life,” he exclaimed in front of his thousands of fans. Now, he demonstrates in his new session with Bizarrap that his dedication to God has not affected his ability to make great songs.

The days of “pussy, ass, tit” are long gone. Daddy Yankee has not switched to making Christian music, but he has eliminated from his lyrics all references to sex, drinking or drugs that may have existed in the past. This is what he has done in his first collaboration with Bizarrap, which continues to rock as always.

Session #0 of the Argentine recruits Daddy Yankee to make a song that directly recalls the biggest hits of the reggaeton giant. It has the trumpets, the classic and catchy chorus, and the Puerto Rican flow at a thousand revolutions. Of course, with a theme suitable for all audiences.

From the beginning of the song, he addresses his life change directly: “Everyone tells me, what’s wrong with you?” he says just before the ‘hook’. “If you ask anyone, I owe them / When I leave, I’ll take nothing from here / I’m only leaving with a true love / Feet on the ground, always looking at the sky,” Yankee sings while the typical adlibs of “Masivo!” or “Fire!”

Daddy even allows himself to reference his most pagan stage in the most charismatic way in the verses, in which he also demonstrates that in his field he is still one of the best: “It is my father who arrives at my stadium / With me pa’ tos’ laos walks / He is the one who gives me the vitamin / The true gasoline.”

The reggaeton singer’s new version has convinced the public, which has positioned the song at number 15 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 and at number 4 on Spain’s Top 50, right in the middle of Hurricane Rosalía. This year, Daddy Yankee also released ‘LAMENTO EN BAILE’, the first album of his new stage, whose title is an allusion to Psalm 30:11-12 of the Bible.
