Cyndi Lauper sings with Cher, Sza, Mitchell … in its final show

This August 30 is over what will be the last Tour of Cyndi Lauper. ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour’ has developed along 69 dates since last year, visiting North America, then the United Kingdom, some European countries -without stopping in Spain -, Australia, Japan and finally North America again. The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles has hosted the final show, and has contained several surprises.

The usual setlist, of 16 songs, has included ‘Carey’ with Joni Mitchell, ‘Time After Time’ with John Legend, ‘True Colors’ with SZA and finally ‘Girls Just Want to have fun’ with Cher. There is nothing. There was also a fifth collaboration with the opening Jake Wesley Rogers in a version of ‘Money Changes Everything’.

Sza and John Legend fulfill their mission of demonstrating that ‘True Colors’ and ‘Time After Time’ are universal and valid issues for any time, also for their youngest fans.

The public appearances of Joni Mitchell are long time since, which does their very symbolic collaboration. But we must especially highlight the end of the party that Cher gave, interpreting “Girls” as if it were his.

It was the end of the concert, with humor section, and popular participation. “You are the queen,” said one. “No, you are the queen,” the other replied. Cher, by the way, shouted at the end: “I see you soon.” And she is also recording that she is supposed to be her latest study work, and there should soon be news about it.
