Cyndi Lauper and Live Nation today jointly announce the farewell tour of the artist, who turns 71 this month. The social media text says: «It's official. The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour is here and we couldn't be more excited. Get ready to sing all your favorite songs and create incredible memories. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
The announcement comes 41 years after the artist's debut 'She's So Unusual' and is named after her most emblematic song, a 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' that could not have been more important for the history of “girl power.” Today it has 1.1 billion streams. This announcement also coincides with the premiere of the documentary on Paramount+ 'Let the Canary Sing', which will be this Tuesday, June 4.
The tour excludes Europe, as you can see, it mainly takes place in arenas in the United States and Canada, but in the United Kingdom there will be a date at Glastonbury and a special one at London's Royal Albert Hall.
