Perfume Genius returns with the announcement of their new album. ‘Glory’ will be available starting March 28 and will become the successor to ‘Ugly Season’. In addition, Mike Hadreas – real name – has also released the first single from the project, the folky ‘It’s A Mirror’.
The project is produced by Blake Mills and, according to a press release, deals with the “comings and goings between the internal and the external.” The released single, for example, is about feeling overwhelmed and stuck in a loop. Hadreas has also commented that he wakes up “overwhelmed even when nothing is happening”: “I spend the rest of the day trying to regulate, which I prefer to do at home, alone with my thoughts.”
The 43-year-old artist will also go on tour this year, during the months of May and June, around the United States. ‘Glory’ is the seventh album by Perfume Genius.
