Eartheater, the experimental electronic pop singer, known for dazzling songs like ‘Below the Clavicle’, for her elastic voice and for her striking style, has announced that her new album can be heard starting next July 14.
Titled ‘Heavenly Body: If I’m The Bottle You’re The Message’, Alexandra Drewchin’s new album follows ‘Powders’ (2023) and is dedicated to her pregnancy and motherhood, specifically to the “heartbreaks and joys of being a mother.”
“Heavenly Body” will be made up of 11 tracks, one of which includes collaboration with another new mother: Oklou. Both will join forces in ‘Fast Asleep’. The final track, ‘Nova’, gets its title from the name of Eartheater’s daughter.
‘Paradise Rains’, the first preview of “Heavenly Body”, follows the most emotional side of the artist, aided by melancholic pianos and strings, a heartfelt vocal melody, and a tense and subtle electronic vibration that creeps in towards the end.
Eartheater says the song is about reclaiming her childhood farm, which her family had sold, and returning to it 20 years later with her husband. That return was full of emotions and important coincidences, including that she conceived her baby the same day they visited the farm for the first time.
