How to Kill Felipesthe prestigious group from Santiago de Chile releases a single with Bill Gould of Faith No More as a guest.
“Looking for the light” is, in addition to the starting point for the future album of How to Kill Felipesa song that rescues the band’s most aggressive DNA and combines it with the personal bass tone of Gould, who also recorded guitars and percussion on the song.
About the experience, drummer Felipe Metraca comments “Although we have been working with Billy for more than eleven years, this was a totally new experience. For the first time we faced each other on a level of musical composition, since before it had been more of mixing and production; Now he went into the depths of the song and made creative suggestions that totally changed my point of view. Rhythmically, Billy contributed ideas that would never have occurred to me, and the aggressiveness of the bass gives the song the necessary strength. ‘Looking for the light’ continues to have the essence of CAF but at the same time proposes something totally new for us.”
In turn, Gould expressed himself in this regard, saying that “they asked me if I wanted to play bass on “Looking for the Light” and I obviously knew their music a lot, I have worked on many of their previous albums and I like what they do, I think they have their own language. So normally when I play with them I’m learning that language, I do things their way. But in this case I brought my tone and my approach to rhythm to his track. I think it turned out pretty good… Koala’s vocals and the way the drum groove works with the bass well in the background, yeah, it’s very good. It is still CAF obviously, very CAF, but I hope to have added something different and interesting.”
The band is finalizing details of their next album to be released this year while planning their next European tour.
