Oklou prepares the launch of ‘Choke Aough’, which is considered his debut album despite the impact of his 2020 mixtape, ‘Galore’. From ‘Choke Aough’ there are already five singles, among which ‘Family and Friends’ U ‘Obvious’ have highlighted. The True Panther label will put this album on sale on February 7.
In the advances of ‘Choke Aough’, Oklou has reduced the Eurodance (‘Harvest Sky’ rhythms) or the UK Garage (‘Choke Enough’) to his most shy and stealthy expression. Marylou Vanina Mayniel, instead of taking us to the dance floor, wades us in her (futuristic) cradle.
‘Take Me by The Hand’, the fifth single, fulfills the same task, animated again by a slight rhythm of UK Garage. It is a pulse, a slight beat that encourages the song, while wrapped in the glow of Oklou synthesizers and in their flashing lights of light. Today’s song is light and floats in the air like a snowflake.
‘Take Me by the Hand’ is a duet between Oklou and the Swedish rapper and producer Bladee, whom you have been able to hear, for example, collaborating with Charli XCX in the remixs of ‘Rewind’ or ‘Drama’ (Oklou and Bladee already They had joined in the remix of ‘Rainbow’). ‘Take Me by The Hand’ reflects the connection between two people needed to protect themselves from the outside world. Both Oklou and Bladee know a place that serves as a refuge. “Take me hand in hand when the problems call our name … let’s go to a less lonely place, far from light,” they recite.
In ‘Take Me by The Hand’, Oklou shines again not only as a producer, but also as a melodies composer, and especially the chorus of ‘Take Me by The Hand’ asks to be sampling or remixed in some success of the pop of the future.
