Cobra releases its album “Henko” in November

The Basque quartet Cobrawhich returns renewed with new members, presents the first advance single, “Drawn To The Flame”.

The rock/metal band Cobra is back with a new album, after a period of intermittent activity. “Henko” which will be released on November 14, brings together six songs that explore change, decisions and their consequences, goodbyes and disappointment, the learning that

darkest moments. The preorder is available in 10” Vinyl + CD format or exclusive pack that includes 10” Vinyl + CD + t-shirt.

This new album by the Basque quartet, the fifth (+ an EP of covers), was recorded in July 2025 at Koba Estudio with Xanpe (TT LT, Horn Of The Rhino, Vibora…), the band’s regular sound technician. “Henko” It arrives with the usual strength and forcefulness that define the band, but inaugurates a new stage, renewed and with an expanded identity: Sergio G. Rebollo (Highlights), on live drums since 2020, officially becomes a member of the band, and Iñigo Ibarrondo replaces David González on bass. Likewise, the album features Zaloa U (Kokein) on the chorus of “Drawn to the Flame”, their first preview (listen below), and Jon Aguirrezabalaga on synths on “Meteor”.

The band was founded in 2006 by David González (bass – Berri Txarrak) and Josu Luengo (guitar – eVirus69). Shortly after, Haritz Lete (vocals – Kokein) and Ekain Elorza (drums – Morgan) joined. Throughout its career, Cobra has been part of the main milestones on the state circuit: it has participated in festivals such as Azkena Rock Fest, Download Fest and Resurrection Fest, and has toured with leading bands such as Baroness, Cancer Bats, Elder or Entombed. With that initial training they published “The Strong Arm of the Rock” (2007), which received excellent reviews in the state press. Then they would arrive “Thriller!” (2011) and the EP “Covered (a selection of film scores)” (2012), both published with Kaiowas Records —a label born under the aegis of Roadrunner Records—, works with which the band finished outlining its sound and consolidating its overwhelming stage presence. In 2016 they published “Riffyard“, a clear tribute to the riff mixed by Santi Garcia (Standstill, Toundra, Viva Belgrado…), which reinforced the style of a band in constant evolution. In 2020 it saw the light “Fyre”an energetic and chameleon-like album, a change of skin as necessary as it is natural, with the sole purpose of adapting to their growth and evolution as a group. After the launch of “Fyre”Sergio G. Rebollo (Highlights) replaces Ekain on drums for the presentation tour, a stage that lasted for several years and that, although it started in a context conditioned by the pandemic, worked strongly and received a great reception. After that period, and after a time with less live presence in which the band focused on rethinking its direction, in 2024 David left the group and began writing the album that will arrive soon, “Henko”.

Next week they will present their second single, “Hontzaren Hegaldia”. For now, here is “Drawn To The Flame”:
