Chuck Norris, legendary actor and martial arts expert, has died at the age of 86. This is what his family has made known through their social networks. Although the cause of death has not been revealed, it was known that Norris had been urgently hospitalized this Thursday in Hawaii after some type of medical emergency.
«To the world, he was known as a martial artist, actor and symbol of strength. “To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother and the heart of our family,” Norris’ family said. He was known for his roles in series such as ‘Walker Texas Ranger’ or ‘Delta Force’, thanks to which he achieved an action hero status that stayed with him throughout his career.
Chuck Norris was born in Oklahoma in 1940, having his greatest point of popularity on the screen during the 1980s. However, in 1972 he was also part of a cinema milestone when he fought on the big screen against Bruce Lee in the film ‘Way of the Dragon’, released in 1972. Although of course, at that time he was not yet the legend he is now.
«The love and support he received from his fans around the world meant a lot to him and our family is truly grateful for it. For him, you were not simply fans, you were his friends,” can be read in the statement from the actor’s family. The figure of Chuck Norris transcended generations, being a television hero for millennials, but also one of the best-known memes of Generation Z.
According to fan accounts, Chuck Norris himself enjoyed making jokes about him at conventions. These are known to everyone: “Chuck Norris counted to infinity, twice” or “Death had a close experience with Chuck Norris” are two classics. The memes became reality in 2017, when the actor at the age of 77 faced a whopping two heart attacks in 47 minutes.
