The Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame ceremony aired tonight from Cleveland, Ohio, and left some standout moments. In particular, the performance of Cher and Dua Lipa singing ‘Believe’ together, Cher’s hit from 1998. The physical resemblance between Cher and Dua has been much commented on in recent years, so seeing them share the stage is almost symbolic.
Although seeing Cher and Dua together on stage is a marvel, the two have not been on par vocally. Dua has had a hard time hitting the high notes, and Cher has come in saving the furniture.
In addition to singing together live, Cher and Dua have appeared together at a press conference. They have also posed with Zendaya.
In addition to Cher, Mary J. Blige, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, Ozzy Osbourne and A Tribe Called Quest are inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. Osbourne was already part of the Museum as part of Black Sabbath.
And, along with Dua Lipa, guests Dr. Dre, James Taylor, Julia Roberts, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Demi Lovato, Busta Rhymes and Slash participated in the gala.
Cher may already celebrate being inducted into the Rock ‘n Rall Hall of Fame, but just last year she criticized the museum for ignoring her for decades.
On another note, Dua Lipa has just given a symphony concert in London. There, Dua has exhibited better vocal form singing the ‘Radical Optimism’ repertoire with an orchestra of 53 musicians and a choir of 14 singers. The concert has been recorded for future release.
