Charli XCX surprises us with “House”, his collaboration with John Cale. The song will be part of the soundtrack of “Wuthering Heights”.
This single is the first from the album that the singer composed for the upcoming adaptation of the literary classic by Emily Bronte “Wuthering Heights” by Emerald Fennelland has the collaboration of John Caleof The Velvet Underground. This cinematic and disturbing proposal shows the singer entering the terrain of gothic and industrial rock, with Cale’s interventions that intensify the feeling of omen.
The video clip, directed by Mitch Ryanfeatures Charli and Cale, as well as dark, shadowy figures, and shows Charli pouring candle wax onto her skin. Explaining how the song came about, Charli said Emerald Fennell called her to ask if she would be interested in working on a song for the film. The artist explained that she read the script, and immediately began working on several songs that she felt connected to the film.
After a year marked by the great reception of “brat“, Charli XCX returns with a song completely different from her last full-length, which took her to the top of the charts. This time, together with John Calethe British explores her darker side in the soundtrack of the new adaptation of “Wuthering Heights“.
