Charli XCX and Billie Eilish roll around in bras on 'Guess'

Music news

Charli XCX scores a No. 1 single in the UK, but not an album

Charli xcx enters the UK Singles Chart at Number 1 with the remix of ‘Guess’ featuring Billie Eilish. It is Charli’s second UK Number 1, and Billie’s third after ‘No Time to Die’ and ‘What Was I Made For?’.

It’s been 10 years since Charli xcx’s first UK number 1, which was none other than ‘I Love It’ by Icona Pop, a song composed by Charli in which the British artist appeared as a guest artist.

Many of Charli XCX’s biggest UK hits never reached the top spot on the singles chart. ‘Fancy’, her collaboration with Iggy Azalea, stayed at No. 5, while ‘Out Out’ with Joel Corry and ‘Boom Clap’ didn’t make it past No. 6. But Charli can claim that ‘Brat’ has already given her some of her biggest hits: aside from ‘Guess’, this week ‘Apple’ climbs to No. 8 and ‘360’ to No. 11. These are Charli XCX’s top 10 UK hits:

1.- Guess Remix ft. Billie Eilish
1.- I Love It ft. Icona Pop

5.- Fancy ft. Iggy Azalea
6.- Boom Clap
6.- Out Out ft. Joel Corry, Jax Jones, Saweetie

8.- Doing It ft. Rita Ora
8.- Apple
9.- Speed Drive

13.- 1999 ft. Troye Sivan

Here’s how Charli’s other singles stack up on the UK Singles Chart. You won’t find some of her most iconic tracks, like ‘Unlock It’ and ‘Vroom Vroom’, absolute fan favourites.

22.- Girls ft. Cardi B, Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha
24.- Hot in It ft. Tiësto
24.- Beg for You ft. Rina Sawayama
26.- From dutch
28.- Girl, so confusing ft. Lorde
29.- After the Afterparty ft. Lil Yachty

31.- Boys
35.- Break the Rules
35.- Dirty Sexy Money ft. David Guetta, AFROJACK, French Montana
41.- In the City ft. Sam Smith
44.- Good Ones
47.- Talk Talk

62.- Superlove
63.- 365
70.- Blame it On Your Love ft. Lizzo

The bad news is that Charli has once again failed to get ‘Brat’ to number 1 on the UK album chart. This time it wasn’t Taylor Swift, but Chappell Roan, who prevented her from doing so with the increasingly popular ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess’ (2023).
